The rules

• No smoking indoors. The deck and the firepit are yours — ashtrays are provided.
• Fires in the braais only, please. No bonfires.
• Pets are welcome by prior arrangement, with a R150 per-pet cleaning fee.
• Booked guests only overnight. Day visitors are welcome — just let us know.
• The grounds are fully enclosed, so dogs and small children can roam.
• Please keep noise down after 22:00. The forest carries sound further than you think.
• Two bags of firewood are included. Extra bags are R60, run on trust.
• Please do not adjust the geyser, and please leave the furniture where it is.
• Lost key R100 · lost alarm remote R400.

Cancellation

Cancel more than 14 days before arrival and the deposit is refunded in full. Inside 14 days the deposit is not refunded, though if we manage to re-let the dates we refund 90% of what you paid. The full terms explain why booking direct carries firmer conditions than the platforms.

Load-shedding

The cabin has backup for lights, WiFi and charging. The gas stove works regardless, so cooking is never affected.

Getting here

Two hours from Cape Town on the R43 through Hermanus, or the N2 through Caledon. The last stretch into Van Dyks Bay is a sand road, fine for any car. Full directions come with your confirmation.
